scorpion
Northern 322 481 has been out shopped from Wabtec Doncaster following a full repaint. Instead of its previous de-branded First group blue with grey doors it is now in plain Northern blue with grey doors. The roof and underframe are grey and the yellow end now wraps around as per the Northern 321/9s. It has a full set of Northern lettering plus "M" logos but not a sign of the purple and white swoops on the driving cars. bodyside wise its even plainer than before having lost the white stripe along the upper bodyside Doesn't appear to be any change inside. Strangely, as it only came out on Monday 7th it has the yellow Tour de France stickers which are due to be peeled off imminently. 322 482 has gone into works today I'm guessing that with limited time remaining on the franchise they haven't bothered with the full livery although other Northern units are still receiving repaints with the swoops. I wonder if the 321/9s will follow into blue
'CHARD
Good spot, Scorpion. I wonder if they will save money by not applying the full branding, as there's only eighteen months or so left to run. Does sound compelling to me.
scorpion
travelled on it today, my first impressions that the interior was unchanged were a bit wrong, the first class seating has been replaced by standard 3 + 2 seating covered in matching First group moquette and one carriage has acquired a massive accessible toilet compartment. Outside the toilet are a few tip up seats covered in non matching moquette which at a guess was Scotrail design

So the fleet is being altered to comply with the PRM - TSI well in advance of the 2020 deadline. Useful observation, thank you!
scorpion
322 482 came out today, so its takes just over 7 weeks to fit a toilet and paint the walls
