hoovernut
I am in the process of building a figure of eight test track for my club but have a question. I will be using an insulated diamond crossing. I am aware that it will be fine for normal DC running but will I need a reverse loop module when I run it via DCC. Thanks in advance Mick
Andy Reichert
If the common crossings are insulated then there is no problem. Electrically, there is no difference between DC and DCC wiring for 2-rail. A track short is a track short in either system. In DCC it is always at full voltage, and therefore will trip the power breaker. In DC, what happens depends on the controller setting. Usually it won't trip the breaker unless the throttle is wide open. Andy
