Sam Moss
Hi all, Received the Hornby Butterley station yesterday. Done a quick review. Overall due to silly avoidable errors I give it 6/10. Some of the others Butterley items are better, although the whole range doesn't seem to be out yet.
Black 5 Bear
Having read your review I don't think i'll be buying one soon, looks like a rush job to me, get the feeling that they will like the majority of the other models in the range be heavily discounted. Dent Station building was much better put together !!!
Thom
Can anyone tell me whare I can get a plan of how all the Hornby station buildings are to be set up? When Bachmann did stations like Rothley and Sheffield Park they showed diagrams for setting them up. I found some info on line but not nearly enough. It looks like I need the R9776 signal box to go with the station. What about the R9785 crossing hut that is suggested to go with the station buildings? As for the review of the Hornby buildings, I have come to accept that Hornby does not go into the detail that Bachmann does but their prices are a lot lower and reflect the less detail. I can live with that, I guess. I think Hornby has a totally different view of making prototype buildings then Bachmann has. If one wants the detail and accuracy one buys Bachmann. That's not a jab at Hornby, it's simply the way it is. I only bought the Butterley buildings because they were heavily discounted. lol
