18B
morning, the site http://www.derbysulzers.com/25freight.html has some great examples of the Broughton Lane - ditton service with Class 40 and 25's combo's, just wondered if any other service regualrly employed two loco's of Different classes?? Also if anyone has other examples of the 40&25 conmbos, they;d be interesting to see,
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted September 4, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 4, 2014 Allegedly the 25 came light engine from Springs Branch to Ditton and all the way over the Hope Valley line to assist up the 400 yards of Nunnery curve. Still the same combination when going via Rotherham. One EM1 managed over the Woodhead! Mike.

Tim H
There was the 33+4VEP+4TC combo out of Waterloo (Think it split/combined at Basingstoke) There were some interestng combos on freight over the South Devon banks too. Think I've seen a photo of a 33+45 on oil tanks, which is definitely unusual. Most unusual I've witnessed was a 122 Bubble Car piloting a 47 on a parcels train at Dawlish. Explanation I was given was the 47 had a defective speedo.
