cookie
As he has crept into a few photos already, I'd like to introduce you to Mini Timmy Two Trousers. A re-dressed Dapol character, he is based on a none too flattering photograph taken last year of a friend who would be exhibiting at RMWeb Live - the original intention being to get the figure on the layout, collect some surreptitious photographs and see how long it was before the owner discovered his new scenic addition. I'd love to take credit, but the idea and the base figure came from the furtile mind of Neil, I just reshaped the hat, changed the jacket and and did a spot of painting. However after a quick change of plan, Mini Timmy, in the politest sense of the phrase, got about a bit instead. The new challenge was to get a photo of Mini Timmy on every layout at the show, without the real life Timmy Two Trousers getting an inkling of what was going on The first photo of the day was at Netherhope Halt. The joy of the basic figure is that he can be seen to be a-leaning, or a-waving as appropriate. Mini Timmy had a fairly slow start to the Saturday, its quite strange approaching people you know only from their forum name and asking if you can grab a photo of their layout featuring a small man dressed in Hi-Vis trousers which have clearly had an argument and fallen out with his shoes. Quite a few people guessed who the real Timmy Two Trousers is though, which made it both funnier and easier to get him in place. Standing under the wires and out the front of Ravensclyffe Relaxing in Loughborough Road Posing on Widnes Vine Yard Looking genuinely out of place at Edgeworth He didn't look much better on Phils narrow gauge layout But unsurprisingly, fitted in well at the pub door :-) Part two in a minute... cookie
After a brief pause (ie I had to go back and do some operating), Mini Timmy nipped off to Earls Court Enjoyed the atmosphere at Much Murkle Before being caught loitering in the bushes underneath Victoria Bridge A quick appearance on Torrington and a spot of Hoverboarding at Yard Shunter Mini Timmy almost looked in place at Lochnagar and was then accussed (quite rightly) of looking like a teenage trespasser on Rhydwyn Fawr Steel Showing off again at Orchard road he was then caught in a rather cheeky position at Fourgig East. In fact, he liked the view so much, he stopped for another photo
cookie
Caught having a quick snoop around Reely Grate consoling a friend at Kings Oak and being glimsped on Cliffhanger Looming large at Ropley Chatting at Hadley Town and coming over a bit 'Gulliver' at Furtwagen Ost. A quick pause at Stokesay Junction before completing Saturdays travels at Little Oak Dryer. Sunday morning started bright and early with a pub visit at Kinlet Wharf Before lowering the tone at Vale of Oxbury

cookie
Dwarfed at 03.24 8-8-63 Getting hot with the 00 Live Steam stand Appreciating the colour scheme at Midway Ang giving another clue as to the fine upstanding gentleman who provided the inspiriation for Mini Timmy, finally arriving at Bleakhouse Road Making the most of a brake van special Crossing gate posing Signal climbing Visiting the signal box And to finish off, going home on a marvelously out-of-period 153 I have to say a huge thank you to the layout owners and operators, all of whom stopped what they were doing and took part. Without fail, everybody was helpful, occasionally bemused, but often full of glee and glad to make suggestions of where to place Mini Timmy. There were lots of laughs, some good guesses as to the origins of the chap in question, but best of all was that everybody managed to keep the secret. At one point in the evening do I was feeling guilty because lots of people were asking how the 'tour' was going, in fact quite a large portion of the room knew about Mini Timmy, whilst large Timmy remained unaware It has to said, if you want to talk to people and meet the operators / layout owners, trolling round with a small figure certainly opens doors for you - even if people might think you are a bit 'special'... As for the original aim - well, it didn't take very long for the Mini Timmy to get spotted on Bleakhouse Road but he did get a photograph on every layout - job done. And to round off, cutting a fine dash in his new sideline as a male, seafaring model, is the one, the only, the unstoppable Captain Kernow. Cheers for being a good sport Captain, and yes, in answer to your question, there is only one Mini Timmy Two Trousers. For now... Steve
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted September 15, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 15, 2014 I was just about to log off to go out, and spotted that you'd posted.... You are a very naughty boy! You are a very, very naughty boy! I'll get you back, you know that, some time, some place (that goes for the lot of you, you know who you are...! ). Brilliant, just brilliant and thanks. What larks! wombatofludham
Nice to arrange for Tyseley to send out the celebrity chocolate and cream Class 117 to welcome the miniature celebrity to Kings Oak. Meg Richardson messaged me to say had she known he was in the village he'd have been welcome round to Crossroads for a bit of lunch. Sadly I think she's lost the plot as the motel hasn't been built yet, but nice of her to offer.

Andy Y
he should have guessed something was up as were all so well behaved It was a bit of highlight for me when Tim came striding back towards the arena on Sunday morning saying how well behaved you'd all been when half the hall knew quite differently. All great fun.
cookie
Most industrious Cookie. At what stage did the prototype TTT realise what was taking place? He found the MTTT carry box just after his lunch on Sunday, we were still trying to hide all of the other evidence at the time! At that point I promptly disappeared for lunch. The game was up for MTTT on my return and I confessed to some of the 'touring' under the pressure of the TTT looming eyebrow. At one point, I did think I was going to be walking the metaphorical plank

They're all barstewards, Andy, every last man jack of 'em! I've got SWAGPO investigating them all, but the investigation isn't proceeding very quickly. Even the ranks of the Secret Police seem to be affected by this conspiracy... My revenge will be served cold, will probably be orange in colour and reflective (in a non-contemplatative sense, if you get my drift...)

RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted September 16, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 16, 2014 At the Saturday evening supper TTT could also have been called Timmy Two Puddings and that's not counting two main courses.............. jwealleans
Does he also go by 'Two Pants Timmy'? If so he's just guessed the Teatime Themetime on Radcliffe and Maconie. Well done him.
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted September 16, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 16, 2014 No worries guys. Tim will be thinking long and hard on reprisals but won't actually execute them: he'll be too scared to have to operate his layout all alone and solitary as you've walked out OTOH, the physics law "action=reaction" applies, so it's only fair that you submit to his retaliation after the prank you played on the good (?) Cap'n Vincent - how do you know that they aren't just taking revenge for actions already committed?!

RMweb Premium Grafarman Posted September 17, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 17, 2014 Surely this opens up the possibility for a 'Where's Timmy' competition for the young 'uns at the next RMWeb Live event...?! Could make them in multiple scales so they could be 'hidden' on a number of layouts around the arena... £1 to enter; proceeds to appropriate charity... Just a thought... David I suggested in an earlier post that it could be the basis for raising charity funds. It could appear at many shows being passed from one show to the next.
