michaelp
Does anyone know if the actuator pin on the Peco PL10 is long enough to go through 9mm plywood and into the point tie bar by fixing the point motor in place with the PL9 mounting plate? Thanks in advance Michael
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted September 16, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 16, 2014 If you're struggling to fit it through the board, there is a PL-10E with an extended pin. Cheers, Mick
michaelp
Thanks for the reply, just wondered if the PL10 pin would be long enough to go through without the need to cut it. Michael
Pete 75C
In short, no. I've got 9mm ply, 4mm cork and no adaptor base and it comes up short. I need to get some PL-10Es or sleeve the existing pin with some brass tube. Pete.

If you contact the Peco Technical Bureau, they will send you some sleeves and extended pins free of charge, provided you send them an SAE (ie small Jiffy bag with 1st/2nd Large stamp). Just tell them how many you want and whether the pins are the thin or thick variety as they were changed a while ago.

I've just ordered a bag of 6 x PL-10Es from that big place in Liverpool beginning with H! Seriously, that's useful info and not something I'd have thought of!
