RMweb Premium Steven B Posted September 18, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 18, 2014 The Yorkshire Area Group of the N Gauge Society will be holding its annual open weekend on the 27th and 28th September in York (3 miles from the NRM & York station). The open weekend is open to all, and is free! Members and non-members of the N Gauge Society are welcome as are those who normally model in other scales. We are pleased to be joined by the Society second hand shop which will be attending the event on both days. Please note that the Shop is only open to Society members. We will have four group layouts on show including at least one that has not been seen in public before; They will include work-in-progress so you can learn what goes into building a layout.Come and meet the group and find out what we do. We have resident experts on everything from kit building, electrics, DCC, painting, scenics, weathering, resin casting and 3d printing so feel free to come along and ask questions. Visitors are also welcome to bring along a train to run (DC or DCC, British, Continental, American we really don't mind!). So, if you've ever: wondered how to scratch build a signal box Been unsure how to use etched brass overlays Wanted to batch build cantenary wanted to build award winning models? wanted to make a start on modify and repaint RTR models? needed to convert a class 08 to DCC? wanted your own DCC accessory decoder? thought about making your own wagon loads? wondered how to go about 3d printing a train: We may be able to help! Saturday 27th September - 12:00 - 17:00Sunday 28th September 10:30-15:30 Heworth Community Centre Applecroft Road (behind number 36) York YO31 0HG. The community centre is fully accessible by wheelchairs and limited refreshments will be available (donations appreciated!). It will be a chance to see our layout Heworth Sidings up and running. Happy modelling. Steven B.
