...does a topic get closed just because one person thinks it's going round in circles? It's not as though the discussion was heated, or full of inaccuracies, unlike some others that are allowed to go on and on (e.g. LEDs and resistors).

 

Heavy handed moderation risks killing forums like this.

It was a circular (and inconclusive) topic and had been reported by several parties; I just used one person's reference to it going around (not that they'd reported it).

 

If you have an issue with a specific topic or post report it and we'll take a look at it.

As one of the posters, I think all the points had been made by both sides and it would, probably, have descended into something other than that intended, both sides being entrenched.

 

You can only say the same thing in different ways a few times before it becomes repetitive. Which it had.
