Guest CPRAIL3000
Just a few snaps of these units. They have there problems but they run great with my 25 car trains. I think the traction motor gaff is the biggest visual problem.www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/sets/72157646622047173/
Glorious NSE
Like the CP lighting/bell configuration, nicely done, though it'll be interesting to compare with the Bowser's when they turn up.
Guest CPRAIL3000
I don't thing the CP unit will stand a chance against the Bowser ones. The Soo Line ones are better models as "The Soo" units in real life were pretty standard EMD product.
F-UnitMad
I like 'em!! - especially the Soo ones, of course!! One teeny niggle is that I think the cabside numbers on the Soo units look a bit too big, but they're 'live with-able'. At the risk of demonstrating my utter ignorance in other areas, can I ask what the traction motor gaff is?? (or how is it visible?)

I believe he means that big honkin' brick of a gear box that is visible under the side frames.
Guest CPRAIL3000
The traction motor gaff is reference to the void at the back of the bogie. This leaves a gap between the fuel tank and bogie looking very large. Only visible from a direct side view.
Guest CPRAIL3000
Some more photos and a video of the units at the links below. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirail...7646622047173/
DanielB
Thanks for this, I've got a couple of the Southern versions on pre-order, so seeing them running and hearing the sound is re-assuring.
Guest CPRAIL3000
I really like the way they run and sound, although the North American forums are having a real go at them about some detail issues. I am lucky as there not too many SD40-2 experts in Northern Ireland!!!
