6959
Any one modelling Nunney Castle as recently running should note a few tender modifications not seen during BR days. 1/ to increase coal load there is an additional transverse coal plate behind the tool boxes. 2/ the fire iron rack is boxed in, maybe for extra water capacity. 3/ there are small boxes behind coal space. 6959
That's 6024 king Edward 1 I have checked the camera image from 1 October 2010 Autumn Steam Gala on West Somerset Railway and it must be 6024 because I took it from 'Nunney Castle'. Has anyone got a rear view of the tender on 'Nunney Castle' Regarding 6024 tender, this opens another avenue if modelling 'King Edward I' as preserved. RMweb Premium phil-b259 Posted February 8, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 8, 2015 the fire iron rack is boxed in, maybe for extra water capacity. If Nunney Castle is main line registered, the boxing of the fire iron tunnel was probably demanded by NR. With increasing amounts of OHLE equipment appearing around the country, having long metal poles lying on top of the tender (where they can easily be raised high enough to get a fatal dose of 25KV is not a good idea)
