topsy11
Hello, I've just got hold of a Hornby track cleaning coach which has got some of the original 'cleaning pads' however I'm sure I'll need some new ones eventually. Is there anything like 3000/4000 grit paper I could use as the genuine replacement pads are £4 for 6 which is quite a lot when a sheet of 50p grit paper would make maybe 50 pads or more! Cheers Mark
bigherb
Yes just use wet and dry paper cut to size with a spray removable photo mount adhesive.
Black Sheep
Adding a bit of weight and folding the ends of the grit paper over the ends of the ski helps it navigate points
The Black Hat
Or you could go a bit more up market and get the Dapol track cleaning thingy-ma-jiggy.....
topsy11
I may get one of those eventually. I've only been in to model rail a few weeks so need/want a fair bit of stuff so can't justify buying one just yet! I've got a track rubber and a litre of IPA too so hopefully should be ok for a bit :-)
