Feather River Bill
Hello North American RM webbers, If anyone is headed to Warley this weekend, it would be nice to place some faces with names. I'm helping a friend operate Thorne Hill Colliery (British O) from RAF Kinloss MRC. Please stop by and say hello. Best regards, Bill Tharp
DanielB
I'll be there, fighting through the crowds to get a look in at some of the layouts. I get the feeling it's going to be a long and exhausting day.
Graham Walters
I would like to go, and have been given permission by SWMBO to venture that far north. However with Christmas on the horizon my credit card seems to have developed a nervous twitch and isn't that keen on going !
298
Unfortunately I usually find something better to do, this year it'll be chasing some steam on the WCML... (last year I was washing my hair...).
F-UnitMad
Unfortunately I usually find something better to do, this year it'll be chasing some steam on the WCML... (last year I was washing my hair...).I tend to take all the money it would cost me to attend Warley (tickets, car park & fuel) & go spend it at my local Model Shop instead (which is usually pretty quiet that Saturday as well )This year some of my HO rolling stock will be at Warley, on the Cradley Heath MRC's layout (it's name escapes me) but I won't be there. stewartingram
Anybody going from Cambs direction, A14/A45 on Saturday? Possibility of a lift if you are, parking up at Tile Hill to catch the train (free parking, cheap fare). Stewart
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Stewart, I may be going - what;s the scoop with using the train from Tile Hill?
backofanenvelope
I would have liked to have gone but didn't realise it would cost my left kidney to get there by train!
stewartingram
Stewart, I may be going - what;s the scoop with using the train from Tile Hill? Free car park, cheap train fare, thus no expensive NEC parking. Big save, and you walk virtually in the dry from the train too.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
I just looked - seems like a train roughly every twenty minutes for about £2.50 for an all day anytime return. IS the car park the one off Alan Higgs Way, next to the station? Looks like that's a better plan than trying to fight my way to the NEC car parks. Thanks Stewart
stewartingram
No idea of the address but it is the designated station car park. Accessible (from memory) off the road that crosses the bridge by the station. Stewart
Andy Y
Try Hampton-in-Arden and Marston Green too.
sjgardiner
I'd love to go to Warley sometime, but having just spent 3 weeks in October in the UK on vacation, a trip to Warley is out of the question. Its on my list of shows to go to someday with the January show in Springfield Mass on this side of the pond. Stephen

Dr Gerbil-Fritters
What the.... should I stay and see the Duchess or go straight to the show?
SM42
I'll be at stand F9 (on the back wall I think) most of the time. Look for an SM42 and find SM42. Andy
298
What the.... should I stay and see the Duchess or go straight to the show? Your choice (and it depends if it's on time). There is a good view from the platform looking straight down the line and through Beechwood Tunnel....downside is you won't be alone...
royaloak
And with the added bonus of a Duchess passing through at about 10am. Scheduled to arrive 0925 and depart 0951- http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50539/2014/11/22/advanced
alfsboy
As the cost of getting there ,getting in ,eating, parking ,and some no doubt purchases would come to far more than a TCS WOW decoder I have opted for the latter .Have fun everyone whose going . 298
Today I have mostly been looking at trains in gloomy conditions, but outside. But we did manage to get caught up in the NEC show traffic on the M42 when I decided it was a good idea to take a diversion from our booked route to see the Duchess at Birmingham International. Anyway, here are a few screen grabs, I might upload the full video to Youtube later: 46233 and 57315 at Berkswell: And 4464 on the WCML at Grendon: I also managed to arrive home with this piece of loveliness, passed down via my Dad from a distant relative/neighbour/charity shop. When the Missus saw it, she asked if we'd "popped into" the Warley Show.... Unfortunately you can't just pop in.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Warley was almost the death of me... in by 9.15,exited at 11 with worst migraine for years. Damn.
DanielB
I spy a Z GAUGE Flying Scotsman! Lovely, weren't they? I came home with a bit more than I probably should have, including my first HO scale loco and freight cars. B****r, now I've got to build ANOTHER layout! Dr Gerbil-Fritters
If Jordan was there, I spied some Atlas O scale boxcars for 30 notes and a bit.... I almost bought some
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Unfortunately you can't just pop in. Weirdly, I seemed to do exactly that! The feeding frenzy around the Bachmann stand was a sight to behold, as was the moment I came face to face with the Hornby Adams Radial - no one else anywhere near me, nobody seemed to have noticed it! A genuine 'huh?' moment....
F-UnitMad
If Jordan was there, I spied some Atlas O scale boxcars for 30 notes and a bit.... I almost bought some Negatory Herr Doktor although some of my remaining HO stock is there (& for sale see the Colorado Bluffs layout)anyway £30+a bit isnt bad.... depending on what they were, of course.
