Should I use my gallery for blog photos?

Recommended Posts

I have uploaded a load of photos to my gallery and carefully labelled and described them. Now I wonder whether that was the best way to do it since now when I refer to a gallery photo in my blog I only get a small thumbnail of the image and they only seem to be able to run down the page not in a line across the page.

Should I upload them again to get them large in my blog or is there a better way of referring to them in the blog so that they are larger. Can I change the size of the thumbnail in the blog for example?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Try this:

1. in the Gallery right-click on your photo.

2. on the panel which appears, select the size of image you require.

3. when the photo appears at that size, right-click on it.

4. on the menu which appears, click Copy Image Location.

5. in your blog entry, click the Image button -- that's this one: post-1103-0-70913800-1416272715.png

6. in the panel which appears, right-click in the box and then click Paste on the menu and then OK.

7. the photo will then appear in your blog.

regards,

Martin.

Simple answer, Dave. Upload the photos directly to you blog, just as photos should be directly uploaded into forum posts. That way we don't end up with small thumbnails that we can't see and have to click on again to see a not much bigger version.

Once upon a time folk were encouraged to use the galleries for good quality photos that might be of interest to others in the future. Nowadays far too many fill them with work-in-progress phone snaps that might be looked at once but never again.
