clarkeeboy56
Hi, I posted this query on the Southern Railway specialist subject section, but thought I'd ask it here too... Our club is building a layout based on Rye, East Sussex. We aim to scratch build the buildings on i and to start off we thought we'd commence with something simple...like the signal box!!! Simple?? Hmmmm we'll see! We have a good selection of photo's of the box at Rye, and whereas its quite difficult to access to measure, we may be able to access the boxes at Wateringbury and Wye, The box at Rye is a Saxby & Farmer Type 12, and is 3 x 4 bays........ Questions: Does anyone here have a link to drawings of the box? Are there diagrams in a book anywhere? Does anyone have the overall dimensions? I've hazarded a guess based on counting bricks in the photo's but I'm not too confident of this. I hope to conduct a 'field trip' soon, but that 's unlikely to be for a week or two, and I'd like to make some preliminary enquiries first, to get started on a mock up... Thanks.
