73202 stabled at Three Bridges. Not sure when this was taken, although I have a date of August* 2004 against it, although cannot be certain this is correct.

That's a rather striking livery. Gatwick Express? I'm off to Google it as I'm obviously totally out of touch!

I'll have a few of these that I can post covering several different liveries since the mid-1970s.

To start off with, under a very threatening sky, 73204 'Janice' and 73209 'Alison' stabled on 2nd October 2006 at Eastleigh in the spot where 73s have been stabled for close on 50 years.

And continue to get stabled...

Unusual to see 73s on freightliner boxes. Is that Basingstoke?

(PJM-Neg-049.jpg)

It's Eastleigh, with the East yard in the background and the line from Romsey coming in from the left.

Here's an unidentified one at Northfleet (station in the left background), heading east with the Brett (or Murphy?) hopper empties back to Hoo Jn or Cliffe, in about 1983.

There's still a footbridge, but now completely surrounded by mesh, making it hard to get a comparable photo. The view to the left and behind the photographer is now completely changed with the HS1 link and Ebbsfleet. The Brett hoppers are still going though.

Hi Claude,

That livery was applied in late 2008. It did some training trips between SL and Brighton in Nov and Dec so perhaps you got it sometime around then?

Cheers

Tom

Thanks Tom. Certainly the trees look wintry, so there is a very good chance it is 2008.

Back in February 2001 the last running NSE livery ED (73129) waits for the signal at Platform 13 at London Bridge to clear and head off into a night possession somewhere in the South Central suburbs.

Hi Tom - As you say, lets hope we see a 7mm RTR ED sooner rather than later, I was hoping that Heljan had one on there list when they released Info on the Class 25/43/45 etc, but looks as though we have to wait a bit longer - Dapol maybe ???? -  I would buy at least 3 if they became available.

Cheers, Bob.

Me too Bob, but it seems to be the loco all the rtr and kit manufacturers avoid. I'd have thought it will get looked into soon as the loco types are running out. I've got fond memories of them and they're right up my street for my layout. But we'll have to keep looking at our prototype pics for now :)

Cheers

Tom
