Back to good times in June 1993, and 73101/73109's journey to the Paignton & Dartmouth Railway diesel gala:

Final checks at Eastleigh before setting off...I've still got the special arrangement working sheet with the timings on for this trip somewhere

A photo opportunity for Eastleigh drivers Bob Flood and Rod Tizzard at Exeter who crewed the ED's for the entire trip

Another taken during the servicing stop on the way down at Exeter

And one taken at Kingswear during the weekend

Some excellent shots in this thread. These old girls are getting a bit long in the tooth now, but it's great to see them still going strong.

Two of the 'old girls' at Hither Green / Grove Park this morning, top and tail an NR inspection train. One in GBRF colours and the other all grey, plus 3 (DRS) class 37's almost like old times at 73c

On holiday in London. Waiting to catch the train from Abbey Wood this morning when the announcer said 'stand back on platform 2 as the next train is not stopping'. Just managed to get these pics on my phone.

Amazing to see them at Frodsham, what were they doing there?

Been recording Wirral Lines. Only noticed them on the run whilst working nights and as a bonus my relief came in early. Tonight they are doing Merseyrail Northern Lines.

Caught 73201 "Broadlands" top and tailing with 73128 "O.V.S Bulleid C.B.E" on a Network Rail test train, at Poole this morning.

Nice shots Jeff. Looks like 73003 is about to enter the loco sidings at the Norwood end of Selhurst Depot. Some GEX stock in the background of the first shot. Didn't often see that at Selhurst. The 73 is pictured adjacent to the "official walking route" between Norwood and Selhurst Depots. From memory, we were allowed around 20 minutes to walk from one end to another. In reality, we'd all catch a lift from something coming out of the washer road and be at Selhurst in under a minute, freeing up more time to drink tea!

Some detail shots of 73128. ( plus some other occupants of the yard)

Cheers,

Phil.
