Webbo
It's not that difficult to park Alan! Peter I know that Peter, but last year it was peeing it down with rain and I had a fair distance to walk and I got wet, (I'm an idle old git and don't like getting wet). nimbamoss
Hi All, Nearly ready for tomorrow, open from 10 on Saturday. FTPE have trains from Sheffield, Doncaster, Scunthorpe and Manchester to Cleethorpes. We are just down the road from the station. Nearby we have the famous fish and chip shop Steele's as well copious amounts of ice cream for the kiddies not to mention the fine beech and donkey rides. Some pictures from today's setting up. Benn
It is with great regret that I would like to offer my apologies with regards to the absence of Barton Road this weekend. Up until 2pm this afternoon everything was going very well, but as I was about to set off the clutch failed on the van and despite my best efforts, the van was declared a failure before it left it's parking space on the road outside my house... A venture to my local garage on foot in a last ditch attempt to get someone out to have a look and try and sort it out was fruitless, as it turns out the gearbox needs to come out, which is a long job and it's going to set me back quite a sum! The venue looks excellent, and both myself and my friend who helps me out were really looking forward to this show, so we're particularly gutted! Many thanks to Nigel who was very understanding when I spoke to him on the phone, I hope we can re-book and try again one year if we're not on the black list now...Benn. RANGERS
Made it to Cleethorpes this afternoon, the first time I've been able to make the trip for a few years and well worth it. Excellent layouts, good selection of trade, exceptional cakes and great fish and chips - priceless. For the Ivatt 4MT, 08 and the other odds and ends I bought, there was Mastercard! So much for not buying anything and conserving resources for Expo EM next week. It would be unfair to single out any particular layout, all were good and had great appeal for one reason or another, but the standard of the stock on Holbeck would justify special mention from me. I'd recommend the trip for anyone thinking about it tomorrow, this is one of my favourite remaining "traditional" club shows the cakes alone were worth the journey. steve1
Just to say thanks from Jean and I to Cleethorpes for the invite and a spiffing weekend. Duncan's Mine ran extremely well and seemed to be popular, especially with the younger element. Hope the show was a success through the door. steve
peterl
Please add my thanks. Clee Valley suffered on Saturday from a broken electrical feed to the point motors in the fiddle yard. Fixed first thing Sunday morning. Great Show as usual. Peter
