Finished the layout name today, getting near the end now, in fact you could say it's finished, just the car cards and way bills to print, then it's play time!!!

There's one thing I can't seem to find for my car park, is HO scale American cars that were about in the 80/90's,plenty for 50/60's or 2000+,will keep looking, something will turn up!

You'll need to dig for some of these, but some to search for (trying to keep to "workaday" vehicles!):

Trident Chevy vans, pickups (long, short, stepside, utility, stake, wrecker) Blazer, Suburban - early-mid 80s.
Atlas 78-83 Ford Fairmont, 93 Ford Explorer, 96 Taurus
Motormax/Fresh Cherries 81 Ford Escort, 84 Ford Tempo, 82 Honda Accord
Busch 90 Chrysler Voyager, 95 Blazer, 96 Ford Crown Vic
NEO ($$ but wow!) Cadillac Seville, Honda Prelude, Chevy caprice classic

Some of them have more 70s cars that would have survived through the 80s climate permitting!

Made a mental note of these, only want 3-4 cars, I've got a trident Chevy van, will keep looking

Hi Ray,

You could also look out for Mongram Mini-exacts, the range included a Buick Grand National, Chevy Lumina and Pontiac Grand Prix.

Williams Brothers did some kits in clear plastic, most relevant would be the Chevvy El Camino pick up.

Ray - another thought - do an ebay.co.uk search for 4D Model cars -  although they may be too modern for your needs - may also be worth a search on ebay.de for US 1:87 scale model cars- there is this on there and I believe they were imported to USA  http://www.ebay.de/itm/SCHUCO-1-87-VW-Karmann-GHIA-model-car-scale-1-87-A91-/162038620305?hash=item25ba412091:g:FK8AAOSw9KpXAsqm

The FWD Ford Escort was supposed to be one of Fords first "world cars" so could be a possible if parked so you can't see the front (don't want scare away kids!) US editions of the first varied quite a bit but the final sort of jelly mould version was very close to Euro edtions. Busch have done some and here is a link to the final generation estate, sorry station wagon http://www.galerie.1zu87.com/artikel/1zu87-Ford-Escort-Turnier-weinrot-met-Rietze-20380-11002.html . Any VW will do, also Merecedes Benz sold in big numbers and also lasted well, pickups are almost ageless. Neo are pricey but lots of gas guzzlers, put the Lincoln in the car park with Frank Cannon!

Did a couple of the smaller jobs last night, new horns, air pipes on the S2's and built, painted and installed the switch stands, well that's nearly the end of the build, just little cosmetic jobs to do, i hate it when you get to the end of a build, ideas start to drift into my head.

On the up side already had a few inquiries from exhibition managers and a couple of exhibitions booked (surprising what beer can do!!!)so you may see me at a exhibition near you.

i'll see you at TVNAM, all being well, are you traveling up in the morning or stopping somewhere Friday night, i haven't decided yet(see how things are with Mum), was thinking of the Old Peculiar, pub ,not beer

Ray

We have booked a hotel enroute around Warwick. Being a Friday night its just a bit too risky trying ot get all the way to the show area but nice idea.

Are these Bachmann locos??

yep, there good, but need a good run in on a layout or circle of track

Thanks. I've had very good luck with my Bachmann loco purchases, both NA and UK locos. I always give my new loco purchases a good run-in both forward and reverse no matter what brand they may be....its just my policy.
