Quality not as good as others. Penzance from the window of the Helicopter (July 1986) Penzance in July 1986 Penzance in July 1986 Manchester Longsight internal user CCT taken 25/4/1992 Finally a pair taken (at home) in Leeds - the Mail depot was the old Wellington Station/Leeds City North now you can travel on 333's from this location on the Aire valley triangle. I was wondering if it was one of the rarely-seen bullion coaches. Evidently not. Were these for security people to accompany high value loads? My area of interest is somewhere between 87 and 97 ( give or take a couple of years to round it up to 2000....... well there's so much interesting stuff out there!!!!!). AMJ Posted June 8, 2010 Author Share Posted June 8, 2010 I have seen the Bullion vans in Leeds but I don't think that I had the camera with me that day or didn't realise until I got home the signifigance of the vehicle with the ends plated over where the gangways used to be. It is suprising how much the skyline of Leeds has changed since the photos above were taken. The Grey Royal Mail building (last pic on the right) has been demolished.
