Ropley - Seeing stripes

Hi all.

Just a quick update tonight to show some work on the Carriage and Boiler shop building which is located at the Eastern end of the yard.

Using the paper mock-up shown in the last entry, the front part of the building has been started first. I've used some evergreen V grove styrene sheet to try and represent the cladding used on the real building, with thin strip then used for the ribbing. The doors were made using Evergreen N gauge car siding, and hopefully the effect captures the look of the real building.

The plan is for the building to be removable for transit, so the breeze block base will be part of the concrete floor of the real building, creating a 'cradle' for the top part to sit in.

Cheers,

Tom.

Thanks all!

Work has started in the first side wall today. I'm going to need a lot more evergreen strip I suspect!

Fantasitc work as ever Tom. Basic as it may seem to some, can you post some photos of how you're building up the external profile of the buildings please as you've made this one look so realistic I think this skill will help with the cladding on Nine Elms new shed when the time comes.

Tks

Martin
