relaxinghobby
So what's this for, a Jouef chassis, looks like it had a trailing truck and wheels of some kind, Fully working valve gear, it runs if I put two wires to the motor brushes. Needs some sort of clamp to hold the motor down, it just flops around at the moment, hard to see what sort of body it had.
Il Grifone
It looks like one of these less the rear axle. There appears to be some sign of longer frames that have been cut down. http://loco-ho.com/fileadmin/user_upload/MARQUES/JOUEF/JOUEF_040_TA/JOUEF-040-TA_004.jpg I can't think of anything else in the Jouef catalogue. except the 140-C, which appears to use the same chassis. http://thumb4.zeppy.io/d/l400/pict/222478795585/jouef-8282-ho-12v-steam-locomotive-tender-mantes-s-n-c-f-locos-vapeur-140-c
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted July 17, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) I agree, although I think that it is probably a 140C cut down. Edit to add: But what is it for? If standard gauge, I think it would have to be an 0-6-4T. There were some interesting early examples in France. Perhaps more likely that it was intended to be used as the basis for a narrow-gauge model. Edited July 17, 2017 by Joseph_Pestell

The only Jouef locomotives I have (apart from the clockwork 0-4-0T) are an ancient Pacific and a later one (I can never remember whether she's a 231G or a 231K), neither of which is relevant here (the latter has a tender drive), so I can't really say any more. EDIT She's a 231K (post #32 and scroll down) http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/28222-dublo-layout/page-2 Edited July 17, 2017 by Il Grifone
