ianbartlett
Coming to our exhibition this Saturday...why not join us for breakfast?! Although the exhibition opens at 10am, our exhibition cafe starts serving from 8.30am so you can buy your ticket (or show your advanced ticket if you have one), come in out of the cold (it is February...) and enjoy a bite to eat and a coffee while we finalise setting up the show. Then, when the show opens, you'll already have your ticket and can start looking around without joining the queue. Trains and bacon rolls - what a combination! ianbartlett
You may have seen it in BRM with ANdy York's excellent pictures but, if not, this is Brinklow - the new N gauge layout from Milton Keynes MRS. It's on display for its first outing at our show this Saturday in Milton Keynes at Stantonbury Leisure Centre, MK14 6BN. mike morley
There are very few layouts in the UK depicting Irish standard 5'3" gauge and Saturday will offer an extremely rare chance to see two of them at the same show. One, in 7mm scale, 36.75mm gauge is Arigna Town by Dave Holman. The other, upstairs on the balcony in 4mm scale 21mm gauge (not 00) is Valentia. The latter is the work of the ever-genial Andy Cundick, who is much better known for his numerous Irish narrow-gauge layouts. The last time I helped Andy operate Valentia was on what I think was its first ever show (Although I cannot for the life of me remember where it was) and I look forward to re-aquainting myself with the layout. Incidentally, the layout is set in Valentia, County Kerry, not Valencia, which is Spain, where the standard track-gauge is five feet and five-eighths inches, which scales out at 20(ish)mm. Perhaps Andy's next layout could be Iberian . . . Edited February 8, 2018 by mike morley

RMweb Premium Vecchio Posted February 9, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 9, 2018 Just looked at the weather forecast for tomorrow - the BBC says "It will be a windy, milder and mostly cloudy day on Saturday with spells of heavy rain pushing in from the west during the morning and then persisting through the afternoon." So really not great for outdoor activities. What to do ? Why not visit our Model Railway Exhibition? A lot to see for Children and grown ups!
