LocomotionatShildon
We are happy to announce two exciting new additions to the National Collection in Miniature Range. In conjunction with Bachmann we are re-launching our Deltic Model in two exciting liveries the West Coast Mainline Version and the East Coast Mainline Version. Built in 1955, Deltic was made to be a sales tool for rail use of the Napier Deltic power unit, which had been developed for marine use. English Electric in Preston constructed the locomotive with an eye towards the export market, and Deltic’s stylish striping and striking dummy headlight hint to Transatlantic trade which never came. The name comes from the Greek letter delta, and refers to the shape of the diesel engine itself. Tested until 1961, by which time it had accumulated 450,000 miles, it has been part of the Science Museum collection since then. The locomotive is finished in WCML Livery condition with the addition of 2 Headboards, for The Merseyside Express and The Shamrock. The locomotive is also finished in ECML Livery condition with the addition of 2 Headboards, for The Northumbrian and The White Rose. Only 512 of each have been produced and they are bound to be popular models, so don't miss out on your chance to add them to your collection. In Stock Now Priced £165.00 Simon Brannen (Commercial Manager) and Stuart David Brown (Retail Advisor) of Locomotionmodels.com, are pleased to have been presented by Pete Waterman OBE, in conjunction with the Friends of the National Railway Museum, the prestigious Model Railway Express eMagazine award for the best stand provided by an association at the 2017 Warley Model Railway Exhibition.
hmrspaul
Just reminds me of being very sad when my Mum and Dad refused to get the Deltic hauled train from Liverpool, opting for a different service. Grrrrrr....I think it was at 10.00 [and to think we would have gone in a Green Goddess tram to catch it!] Paul
RMweb Gold MikeParkin65 Posted November 26, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 26, 2017 Very nice to meet you both when I picked up my Duchess yesterday. All of the traders were friendly but your display was notably better organised and presented than most so this award is well deserved - well done.
