mswjr
Hi All, I have just bought a Gauge master walkabout controller ,The instructions say i need an independent transformer to use with it,now i have looked at the gaugemaster website, and they have two transformers that will go with it ,one is cased and one is uncased, These are expensive ,But i see also on the website they have a plug in tranformer W M 1, This looks to me to be just the job,Can anyone say for sure before i buy it, Thankyou Garry Edited January 18, 2018 by mswjr
robert17649
My late father used a walkabout with a WM1, it had a small additional bit with a 16v ac output and a 12v dc and worked well for ages. I still use it now with a combi,it plugs directly into that. I cant help feeling that an uncased transformer feeding 240v into an open device is a bit iffy. I am sure that gaugemaster make these safe, however but have no experience of one.
mswjr
Thankyou for that ,Much appreciated ,I thought it could go together,But i was doubting my self as it was not in the instuctions,But the volts and outputs are the same, So im buying it,and yes i do not like the sound of an uncased transformer either, Thankyou Garry
