Stuart Birks
I wanted somethnig a bit different for my water tower so hunted around lots of photos until I found some of the towers at Kidderminster and Kemble. The beams looked to be an interesting challenge so I gave it a go. I made a mould so that I could cast the beams. The top and bottom of the posts were turned from perspex and put over some brass posts. I made another mould to create a section of curved corrugated iron and then cast lots of sections which were then glued together. The tank is just plastic card which later got some transfer rivets. The bracing wires are brass soldered through a ring. An interesting job drilling 0.5mm holes through a 1mm thick ring but they worked very well. Stuart Birks
Initially I was disappointed with the paint job but by weathering it a bit more heavily than I originally intended it looks ok. Stu

stevejjjexcov
Superb build Stuart! I would be be pleased with it with or without weathering. There is nothing to be dissapointed about, a little roughness is OK it adds character. Painted metal structures never look perfect especially after a repaint or two!! Again great modeling Best Steve
