Neil.C.P
Hiya everyone,I have been directed here by someone over on the Britmodeler site as am looking for info concerning my latest project.Am a bit out of my comfort zone with the rail world but I do like British steam, especially the history, engineering and architecture side.I love looking at okd photos and am drawn to the 1950's period. In the real world i work in the aviation industry on the airframe maintenance side of things, into modelling most things, mainly aircraft, but have been know to dabble in millitry, nautical, figures and even a bit of scifi. See you out in the forums ☺ Neil

Mike Storey
Cheers Mike,am sure you know more than me lol, have started work on an old Dapol/Airfix Mogul locomotive so will be asking lots of questions when I find the right forum ☺. No need Neal. If you have a question, blurt it out now, and seven hundred people will respond - some will direct you to a thread that already exists, a few may advise to start a new thread, but in most cases, some will actually know the answer straight away, or point you to somewhere where you can find the answer easily. So, wot is your first question? Mike
Neil.C.P
Thanks Mike,am looking for photos of the cabin area and the valve and pipework assemblies just forward of said cabin. Also wondering what the tender looks like under the coal as I would like to remove the molded coal and replace it with something a bit more realistic. The kit has a box like structure on the right hand side of the tender in side the coal area, what is this? That will do for starters ☺ Neil

That will do for starters ☺ Neil I have personally no idea Neil, but this site might help for pictures - they have been renovating a Stanier Mogul for many years now, and finished the tender last year. There are pictures on page 3 of the nearly completed tender, but you may have to go back further for some interior detail. There are a lot of pics! http://staniermogulfund.org.uk/?page_id=109&paged=3 I guess if you emailed them for more specific info, they may help, if no-one else answers you on here. Contrary, much as usual, to what I said earlier, you may well get more responses to a very specific question like this, if you start another post, with Stanier Mogul details or similar, in the title. I suggest you use this section to post it - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/forum/72-uk-prototype-questions/ Good luck! Mike

RMweb Premium Flying Pig Posted May 28, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 28, 2018 The Dapol kit is a BR Standard Class 4 2-6-0 which is quite a different engine from the Stanier design. BR standards seem to be quite popular on RMweb, so if you put that in the thread title you should get some useful answers. Good luck!
