Dan71D
Hi all, I have just purchased two Hornby class 67 locos in Colas livery (one to be re-numberd/named. I have found an issue with one of the NEM sockets on BOTH locos and wondered if this is a common problem with the 67s or with the Colas liveries ones? One NEM socket is fine, the hole goes all the way through and allows the coupling to push in and clip at the other end of the socket. The opposite end, the hole does not pass all the way through so the coupling does not push in all the way nor does it clip on to anything (the "fish tails" of the coupling should pass through and clip at the other end of the NEM socket hole). I have informed my local model shoo where I purchased them from and hopefully Hirnby will be able to supply replacement sockets. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this problem. RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted December 14, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 14, 2018 I had a similar problem with one of my Kings. Found a small burr inside the pocket that was stopping the coupler tail going all the way in. 30 seconds with a needle file solved the problem
Dan71D
It doesn't appear to be a small burr, however I shall try prodding something sharp through it and see if it will pierce through. The inner end looks like it has been fully moulded if you know what I mean?
