DaveArkley
Hi all, Sheesh nearly six years ago I was planning a St Boswells layout, it never did get built! I'm currently constructing baseboards for my new idea - Oikish based on, but not a slavish copy of, Hawick. Does anyone have any photographs of the gasworks served by the long siding north of Hawick station? Idealy close ups of the buildings and in particular the layout of the tracks. Many thanks Dave
'CHARD
LOL - where does the time go, hey Dave! Chris Matthews was researching that locale, I think he had some success on the Old Maps site or elsewhere in SCRAN or RCAHMS, Let me do a wee bit of digging! 'Chard EDIT: try https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/350500/615500/12/101130

'CHARD
Very unusual view of Heriot down platform, although it was easily had, because the waiting shelter attached to the station building was at cess level, and I am guessing this was taken from adjacent to it. Oh, there's an LNER A3 in shot as well... https://www.railscot.co.uk/imageenlarge/imagecomplete.php?id=57198

'CHARD
With thanks to Ian Bouglas who has posted a series of photographs on the Waverley Route Facebook page, and retains copyright of these. Not for commercial use, and with his permission, for which I am extremely grateful, I plan to reproduce them on this thread for those who like a little context to the built environment around their stations. Here are some of the buildings in the goods yard at Hawick, facing onto what then would have been the A7, Dovemount Place, I think.
