andyman7
I visited Invicta Model Railways today to pick up a Bachmann Mk1 Sleeper. Although just opened the shop was better stocked with RTR than many longer established shops, and is clean and well presented. They had another Bachmann loco in the cabinet that was on my wants list so I bought that too. The service is very friendly, and the prices are keen enough to make me happy to support this shop - especially as goods can be examined and no postage is required. As a new business I'm keen to support them especially in view of the MZ/Signal Box meltdown!
RMweb Gold unravelled Posted July 12, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 12, 2013 Useful to know they are open now, they will probably be my nearest model shop. I'll have to visit them soon. Thanks Dave

roundel
5 mins? I Made it in about 30 seconds! They are only a couple of shops down from the coop next door to the station. (if you pass Tesco, then turn around, you're going the wrong way!) Their website is at http://www.invictamodelrail.com/ which fails to mention that they are closed all day on wednesdays. I am really lucky, as I live on the same road Aim to visit tomorrow. Cant wait!

RMweb Gold Andy W Posted July 15, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 15, 2013 Presumably one of the two Saturdays is a typo and Sunday is meant, but which one is the error?
trisonic
I dunno. There is a religion where Saturday is the day of rest.... Best, Pete.

justin1985
Is there no chance the shop will stock Dapol? Considering the Signal Box used to, it would be nice to be able to get hold of Dapol stuff locally. Living in Croydon, this will probably be my new "local" shop, now that Modelzone is closing. Not very local to me, alas, but I hope to visit when I'm over in the future. Best, Pete.

The Lurker
Having visited on Saturday I can say that the team in the shop are very friendly and helpful and that the shop is reasonably well stocked with new issue RTR (and a few second hand).

robertcwp
Having visited on Saturday I can say that the team in the shop are very friendly and helpful and that the shop is reasonably well stocked with new issue RTR (and a few second hand). I paid a visit this afternoon and agree with these comments. I put my name down for a couple limited edition CCTs in maroon and a couple in blue. I passed on the limited edition D5000 though as the Bachmann model is not really close to the pilot scheme batch in terms of detail accuracy.
