hayfield
Walking over a bridge at the golf club I noticed these fence posts I have walked past them loads of times And never paid any notice to them Are they just T sections or are they an old rail This one is bent All in all there are at least 3 if not 4 posts and may be more behind the brambles
buffalo
That's standard GWR fencing made from old bridge rail as used on both broad and standard gauge rail in the 19th century. They were usually used like this as strainers to tension the wire. In between there would be either simple bridge rail posts or wooden posts. Nick ps here's here's a model example and there are several topics somewhere on prototype fencing.
hayfield
That's quick, thank you. I thought it was, but then it was just a guess, and from your comment quite common
buffalo
Yes, very common, they had a lot to use up after the end of the broad gauge. Nick
