Union Mills Locomotives On DCC

A video of a recent Union Mills LMS Cauliflower conversion with a Lenz Silver Mini Decoder. Union Mills models are excellent on dcc running because of the weight of the full metal chassis and shell, we convert the models by installing a lenz silver mini decoder in the tender. Some tender modification is necessary but this ensures that the model runs as originally intended on analogue but using dcc control. The Lenz silver mini decoder produces excellent slow running results     There is a

Set Up Loksound and Lokpilot DCC Locomotives With The ECoS 50200 DCC Controller

This video shows how to How To Set Up Loksound and Lokpilot DCC Locomotives With The ECoS 50200 DCC Controller. The railcom autodetect function on the ECoS will self address any loco fitted with any ESU Loksound or Lokpilot decoder, and this is a simple function you can use to address any new loco without fuss. This video goes further however showing you how to customise your loco, with unique 4 figure address, unique name, unique picture and location in the ECoS roster of your choice

Wickness Models Layout

This is Wickness Models Layout In Action, we are often asked if we use the layout to run trains and to be honest it is very rarely but it was great fun setting this run up over the weekend. Everything here is running on European DCC equipment, predominantly ESU control and Loksound, Lokpilot decoders, with some Lenz , Zimo and Uhlenbrock control and decoder assistance, great fun!

Class 50

The album of photographs shows my new Class 50 Locomotive "Agincourt" with its lit carriages. Here is the album http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/album/3696-wickness-class-50/ Owning a business there is little time to work on anything of your own but I took the plunge on a recent holiday and bought the locomotive and 5 carriages which are indicative of the setup I remember as a child going through Lockerbie Station, for now its just loco and carriages but hopefully the project

ECoS 50200 Wireless and Computer Control

While we were developing the recent Wickness Soundscape dcc sound projects we started to do some work on the computer control and wireless control aspects of the ECoS 50200 controller. As we explored this we found the possibilities to be literally boundless in relation to the technology and devices that most people already have in there own home with the use of an ECoS 50200 as supplied.   Essentially the ECoS is a computer which can be connected to your own home network, just connect it via n

K2057 DJ Models 2-4-0WT Beattie Well Tank DCC Sound Conversion

This is a K2057 DJ Models 2-4-0WT Beattie Well Tank DCC Sound Conversion from Wickness Models. Currently available as dcc ready from Kernow Models. The loco is converted using a Zimo MX648 sound decoder using Youchoos Sugarcurve 7 speaker. This keeps the decoder and speaker in the boiler area preventing anything visible in the cab. Excellent sound by YouChoos

The Port Road

Recently been updating some of the pictures for the Port Road Website, the pictures and artcles for the Dumfries to Castle Douglas Station are now mainly there and can be accessed from this link http://www.theportroad.co.uk/index.php/port-road-galleries/dumfries-to-castle-douglas. One of the notable exceptions is "Southwick Halt" which has proven very challenging to photograph but there are some pictures coming soon, also many more maps and narrative on each of the pictures we've managed to capt

Ixion Hudswell Tank DCC Sound Conversion

I recently converted an O Gauge Ixion Hudswell Tank Loco to dcc sound following(loosely) the recent article in Hornby Magazine. The results were excellent as you can see in the following video. I followed the article with a few slight changes in that I used a Zimo LS10X15S speaker for the second speaker located under the pcb and the speaker located in the designated chamber was a QSI SP075 0.75" from Digitrains. The Decoder used was an MX645R with J94 sound project again from Digitrains. The ori

NCE Powercab Higher Functions

We've recently been working on some new sound projects, whilst doing this we decided to do some specific work on the use of Loksound with the NCE Powecab specifically because so many people in the uk use this system and many find problems accessing higher level functions for use with sound. The result is a document designed to show how to access these functions and operate the Powercab with a 28 function Soundscape project. In essence the document does however gives a good insight into the way t
