BSA coil / slab wagon

Few pics of this weekends progress, fitted the slab bolsters and test fitted the coil cradles, these being cut from plastruct strip with an angle cut off them then filed to length ! Only had to do 60 of these , think in real life they were made of hard rubber.then will make large semi finished stainless coil for them , one will be in EWS livery .will be used on our avesta Sheffield layout

BWA coil wagon

Cambrian BBA kit converted to BWA coil wagon with the edition of five excellent Colin Craig etched cradles, they are easy to solder up with the slot and tab method. Need to be faced with thin wood to protect damage to the coils, which are made of 10 thou plastic with banding cut from thin strips of masking tape. Got 6 of these to do , were destined for my Great Coates layout , but for now will be used on the Avesta Sheffield layout which is part built.Used to convey imported coil from Grimsby to

Shepcote lane tippler

View of the tippler end of the layout ,been testing the traverser out , works fine need to power up the tippler ! Have to find my coal! The layout all being well due to be shown at the Cardiff show Saturday 23 rdJanuary Class 31 31174 waits to leave shepcote with some empty bda wagons Class 56 56032 waits at Shepcote having dropped off some empty baa wagons in the fictitious reception sidings

Asw black adders

Just few pics of some scratchbuilt asw poa Blackadder's using the old Hornby TTA chassis . built these probably about something like 20+ years ago! Just from pics , no drawings or internet then! Just 30 thou sheet and evergreen strip and yet no mainstream manufacturer has brought them out rtr.

bsc shepcote lane

heres a few pics of my bsc shepcote lane layout, based on a the steel industry around the sheffield area, the layout features a hand built strachen and henshaw rotary tippler and a traverser on the end made from a cd drive! this has two micro switches out of a mouse to set the end limits.All building and scenery is handmade with not many off the shelf items Shunting the coal wagons being done by three Tinsley class 08 all named , these are 08510 named Canklow 08678 named Stavely 08880 nam

Avesta sheffield

My son and I have started a new layout based on the stainless steel unloading sidings at the end of tinsley yard, we've added an extra siding to add interest , track work down plus most of the ground cover.next challenge to build working overhead crane ! Few pics for now
