OK, have been having a couple of sessions over the past week or so, mainly track laying and cutting of the river!
Near enough all the track is now layed, just got 2 pieces to go, and then the wireing up of the layout can begin! all hte point controls will be probe and stud.
The two inspection pits are also been cut and out and the pits put in place

Ok, myself and swifty - was on old firum not sure if on here - have been laying some track, first of all, a cork base layer was taped to the boards and then the track taped on top...the track no longer moves and the tape isnt that thick!
well here is a pic of todays progress..
ok now i have the track plan, i gave it to a friend of mine from my local club to 'blow up' to 9'x2'. Track and points are slowly being collected, although i think i now have enough track, but i am still 4 or so points short for the scenic section!
The 'exploded' plan was then layed out onto the boards and cut in half, as the diagram was only 8'6" long.
NExt will be the task of cutting out the river and fiting hte bridge before any track goes down - apart from track pins, what other way is
OK here we are new forum...just have to learn how to use it! took me half hour to figure how to create a blog!
So the last update on the VBR was that it was progressing slower than a slug! But that has now changed, as i now have found new empoyment which means i now have the nescisary* funding!
So, the boards have been made, a plan has been drawn - thanks to the chap who designed it in Germany! - and track and points being aquired!
I am going with the peco 009 mainline track for most of
