Having now got 5813's chassis ready for paint, It was time for the next project
I made a quick start on 2220's chassis, got the jig set up so the next job is going to be prepping for the CSB locations (along with working out what if anything is going to need modifying to allow clearance for the beams.
The intention is going to be to build this before I start on the Finney Dean Goods (assuming that I manage to get into Bristol tomorrow.)
In the mean time I have got on with finishing off 3863's conversion.
I had already fitted the new frames, and converted the pony truck, so next up was the rest of the wheels.
I re used some washers from the 2251 chassis (not needed given the bosses on the Ultrascales). which have been fitted to the Gibson conversion pack.
Hopefully tomorrow at the Bristol O gauge show I will be able to collect an Eilieen's order which will include the washers needed to convert the Hornby rods to use with the Gibson crank pins. After which it aught to just be a case of sorting the pickups.....
Of course the most important piece of work, replacing the damaged motion bracket, still needs to be finished. But I start on Top CIMA on Monday, and will have plenty of time before / after to get it sorted...
(loco not attached to tender, I have reset the coupling bar to use the shorter setting.)
