A couple of weeks time marks the annual Midhurst show, and the club's regular attendance. This year, we are providing no fewer than six layouts in one shape or form. Of that group, four congregated at Milland village hall for a club working day; which gives us the opportunity to carry out some more substantial work that may otherwise not be possible. Notable absentee was 009Matt's Lumpy Barmcake and Salted Cracker Railway, which had a weekend out at the Alton show.

Some layouts, such as Erhwald, only needed some minor tinkering and track cleaning, whilst others needed some more significant tinkering.

Erhwald certainly looks the part...

Warehouse Yard has needed some more significant modifications to repair some track damage. It will be very much a work in progress at the show, although there will be trains running.

Kanjiyama had some detailing added to the yard, as well as the addition of a plexiglass frontage and the fitting of a curtain.

A new layout to me is the under construction Gatcombe, from two of our members. This is a 'refresh' of a much older layout, with some lovely scratch build structures. It was suggested that at least the station building is based on Eggsford...someone will no doubt put me right!

We have a number of shows lined up for 2013, aside from Midhurst. Yamanouchi Oshika will be flying the flag for the club at the Crawley MRS show in April, and then at Wycrail in November. Wycrail will be significant as it will be the final showing of this layout, after which it will be withdrawn. The intention is to put the layout up for sale, however could well end up being broken up for parts if a suitable home is not found.
