Something to move on my layout

I'm about to start building pointwork - I thought it would be a good idea to have some rolling stock to test it with - so I'm building a Peco Toad and 4 plank open. They are very good kits as others have said. Here are my efforts so far..... Toad roof is still to be fixed properly on, and I need to spend some more time swearing as I do the remaining handrails...

Thanks very much Dougal,

It's 7mm O gauge.  The weathering is a lot of fun - I'm experimenting with all sorts of paints.  Perhaps you'd take a look at my other blog posts and see what I'm building.

Lovely work, the weathering really transforms it from a kit to a real-world vehicle in it's own right. The handrails are clearly worth the effort, quite a difference from the 4mm RTR moulded-on ones!

Thanks very much for the kind comments.  I've just spent the evening doing the handrails on the other side - I think they are at the limit of my skills and eyesight. They won't be featured any time soon in MRJ but I'm happy with it!

I should add, I've spent quite a long time happily gazing at it as it gets pulled or pushed along the 3 or 4 metres of track that I've laid.  I'm very pleased I finally decided to move into O gauge.  I admire the work of many 4mm modellers, but at last, Ive found a scale and standard where I can make things that satisfy me an work nicely.
