First outing.
Back from Grime Streets first outing, pretty happy overall, everything ran reasonably well, the major problem being it's operator-yours truly!
Trying to operate and answer questions was not that easy, the planned use of cars went out of the window, less being used but swapped over more frequently, I think I may alter the hidden storage at some stage to ease this. Other lessons learned, Halling mechanisms are superb in operation and the Grime Street fleet may shrink in number for a while as a number of cars are gradually fitted with these mechanisms, it's like comparing a current Hornby/Bachmann etc loco with an early Triang-Hornby, well perhaps not but you get the idea, the 15 ish quid per mech being well wort it in my opinion.
It seem pretty well received with a fair few favourable comments, including some nice words from one of the leading and most published authorities on Leeds trams, which was exceptionally nice, it's also received quite a few show invites including some from what I would call the bigger model railway ones, I'll wait for confirmations before mentioning these though!
A good number of guest cars appeared including many Leeds cars including Lance Corporals, Pilchers and Middleton bogies, but also some from father afield including Bombay.
Outside, things of interest included Leeds buses from the era including a AEC Regent and a Leyland single decker, an the Eades horse tram working passenger services.
All in all a fun day out, and a few pointers for next time.
