Scammell Scarab

Job's Modelling

Today I finished the painting and weathering of my first British Railway Road Service wagon.

Used just for 4 acrylic paint colors for painting the loading: raw sienna, burnt umber, ultramarine and lemon yellow .

Also used some metal gun and black paint and fineliners for detailing the load.

Further weathering was done through dry brushing with: dirt grey paint and a chalk pastel mixture of: black, brown and white (my general weathering mixture)

Below some picture of the result

Hope you like the result.

A very nice "time-piece" Job. It helps to set the period. Is it the Hornby one?

I like the goods on the back. I have that long parcel too on my layout. I wonder what is inside - maybe listening equipment for a 1950s Soviet spy? :-)

It's a Oxford Diecast model. Searching for background information I couldn't find much about this type. Most of them had a separate flatbed.

I like this flatbeds because they gave a great opportunity to give it a personal teach. One of the most important things for when I build a diorama.

What"s inside the boxes you have to ask mister Strange, general director of Strange & Co. This company is making electrical equipment and precision instruments. So who knows ....
