Some ex Great Central locos

I always have work to do - a lot of my own stock has never been completely weathered so I am showing some"before" shots here of partly weathered locos built by my late Father - all of these have appeared on Herculaneum Dock on occasion..First up an N5.

I intend to re-weather this as its not been finished.

Then Earl Roberts of Kandahar. also due for some attention to the running gear weathering

and finally

again some work required on running gear etc

They are all representative of post 1945 locos in and around the CLC

please enjoy!

That's impressive, even before you do the extra work. Not many people seem to model the post-war period. Are the locomotives kits and what are the prototype classes? (Sorry, I don't know much about LNER constituent locos).

Many thanks,

These are all scratch built - the B5 elsewhere is a Millhome Kit - I do have a Judith Edge N5 kit to build but it has lots and lots of rivets...

The top loco is an N5

The middle one - Earl Roberts of Kandahar is a B8

The bottom one is a B9

In addition I have yet to photo a scratchbuilt  Q1 0-8-0T and a Zeppelin - a GC L1 2-6-4T which for some reason my father built. He did have plans for a Lord Faringdon ( another ex GC 4-6-0) and I have some parts for that.

I also have a Bachmann 04 and D11

Some of the ex GC engines gravitated to the Cheshire Lines Committee so some of these get a run out on Herculaneum Dock since Mike Edge "backdated" it to have the Liverpool Overhead Railway on it.

Thanks for the information. They're very impressive models. Is Herculaneum Dock at any exhibitions this year?

More nice work to enjoy!  Making me want a B8 now too- something about those long splashers that just works, aesthetically.

All of the ex GC 4-6-0s are nicely designed - one day I will build a B2 as that is like an elongated D11...

I will dig out the other ex GC locos and photo them - then weather them...
