More Hunslet
Well not much more actually! I bet that if I had not tried to be clever and had just built it with a solid chassis as intended I would have a fully functioning loco by now. Instead I am still trying to get the compensation to work properly. I may be nearly there now but it has been a struggle. Latest one is that having just got the compensation beam almost working i find that it will get in the way of the motion bracket. More sawing. Other problem is that Mr Sharman in his Flexichas book says the beam should be a 'sloppy' fit equalising beam but mine is just too sloppy so no movement is being transfered. Need to make a new one. Anyway here is the current state of play
Do you remember my little jig that I was so proud about, well after a couple of uses the inevitable result is; and a smoke alarm going mental!
Will keep chipping away at this but really need to get going on the layout again so in the next couple of days I intend to work on the middle section which is just plain track and get uncoupling magnets fitted, track painted and ballasted.
