Back on track
Oh I wish I was! Should be 'back working on track' in actual fact. I have actually done the first bit of scenic work which is appropriately enough digging a ditch. A feature that is quite prominent on a lot of pictures is a small ditch dug at the sides of the track, presumably to assist drainage. Mounting the track on foam board was good here as was easy to cut and then I cut the 'spoil' strip in half-ish turned it over and stuck it at the sides of the ditch. So technically the exact same amount of stuff is on the sides as came out of the ditch!
Am not sure though if there should be a ditch between the parallel tracks. As a compromise i have just cut short ones and have solved another problem - how to identify the uncoupling magnet positions. All I did was start a ditch by the magnets - a subtle but effective way (I hope!) of showing the position without being too obvious.
