As some of you may have observed I have steam locos (and stock ) from the ex LMS, Ex BR Standards, and ex LNER..

This is due to the fact that my late father and I had slightly different views of the railway world (strangely enough he was very biased towards the LMS despite living in the North East. Despite this he did build a lot of ex LNER engines for me to paint and line...

as in

an ABS L1 - it weighs a ton, uses Romford wheels and a D13 motor and gearbox - and seems to have more grunt than the Hornby offering.

Nest up - one from me a Little Engines A7 - and I will be the first to admit it doesn't really like corners...

It also has a D13 and Romford wheels.

and two further ex NER tanks engines

first up a Nucast G5. Romford wheels, MW005 motor and it weighs a ton without any ballast. Strange that they are building a 12" to the foot one of these...

and finally for now - one of Newcastle's J72s - in lined Apple Green complete with NER crests...
