Some scenery!
Yes, some scenery at last! I know, I should be finishing off the Hunslet (I have done a bit today honest!), but just fancied a change. So, with a reference photo close to hand it didn't take me long to make up some contour ribs from foam board.
Then some cereal packet strips
Then some thirty year old plaster bandage. Yes, that is how long since I last attempted scenery and if memory serves correctly I didn't get very far then!
Quite remarkably the plaster seems to have set but don't have anything to go over it so a trip to B+Q will be in order tomorrow.
All the scenic features will be based on photographs in a way that I hope will work together and not look too overcrowded as the whole reason for making the thing so long was that I wanted a real feel of space. I will continue working up to the other end of the board tomorrow but must not get over confident as this is the easy end I have started with - the other end has the buildings - or what remains of them!
