I like spraying acrylics!

blog-0929752001385080928.jpgThere is a first time for everything, and today was my first time at spraying acrylics (other than in an aerosol), - and I liked it! I actually used the Tamia paint straight from the jar with no thinning (wouldn't get away with this with the Vallejo though), and it gave a beautifully solid matt coat straight away - why have I left it so long!

Here is the ambulance in my awfully messy spray booth in my cellar workshop, I did take some more pics down there but will save these for a day when I have nothing better to tell you about.

Since then I have added the wheels, head lights and running boards and finished it off with a rolled canvas rear cover and some transfers I have made up for the Red Crosses. Have just given it a waft of matt varnish and is sitting down stairs at the moment so no pics for now. Anyway, it will look so much better tomorrow when I have finished it off with some suitable weathering.

I thin Tamiya acrylic with car windscreen washer fluid. It's much cheaper than Tamiya thinners, easier tog get hold of, and the one I use seems to have a mild detergent in which helps clean the airbrush afterwards.
