Knickerbocker Glories

Job's Modelling

In a reply of last entry of station road I said that a milk-bar was a place where teenager could meet each other.

1950's milk bar date!

I mentioned the above “sorbet”, and it had a nice description.

The Knickerbocker Glories is a big glass of ice cream with strawberries, bananas, grapes and thick, whipped cream on top.

Today I made a nice Italian pasta meal with courgette. So I thought it would be nice to make the Knickerbocker Glories for dessert.

So this time some of my creative kitchen work. Just for fun.

You need (form bottom to top)

Some nice high glasses

Ice cream ( I used sorbet ice)

Some grapes – cut into half

A banana – in slices

Some strawberries – cut in slices

Whipped cream ( I added some vanilla sucker)

A sorbet spoon

All the ingredients.

The final result.

My wife enjoyed it, me too.

You may try it out. Bon appétit.

Regards,

Job

where's the booze

Medication and booze is not always a good combination.

In this one I would use a sparkling white wine.

This is a blog with a difference! First we got music, now we get ice cream. A treat to the senses. 4D modelling!

Except we're not actually getting that Knickerbocker, are we. You're keeping it all to yourself. Grumble!

If you ever visit Holland I will make one for you.

But you can also try to make it for your family. Maybe the can accept your absence more while you are modeling. The RMweb gives also nice recipes !

My granddaughter (6) calls me her chef in a private restaurant.

She liked the pasta with courgette with grated Italian cheese over it.

Thanks for the tip, Job. I will try it over the weekend and call it a "Station Road Special!" :-)

Hi Job, well I finally got to try it. A real success! Not as nicely presented as yours, but very delicious. The only problem is that I'm supposed to be loosing weight!

Mikkel I'm glad that the Station Road Special was a success. Hope you have some time to spend on your layout.

Hi Job, yes it was. I think that's the first time anyone ever passed on ice cream recipes on a railway modelling blog :-)

Yes, getting some work done but nothing much to show for it. Traverser for the goods shed almost done, and baseboard for "the sidings" underway. But we have almost summer weather here this weekend, so maybe a break is needed to see what's going on in the world outside :-)
