Dogs, "snow" and coal

Job's Modelling

Last week we were married for forty years.

To celebrate this I had arranged a short stay in a local city hotel just over the border in Germany.

We have enjoyed our trip and could combine our both interests.

The owner of the hotel has the same breed of dogs we have: Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. A bread that doesn’t affect my allergic constitution to much, with the right approach.

So we took the dogs with us on our walks. My wife could work with them. She is a coach of dog owners and likes to create a dog (owner) in balance.

In this area there were in the past large coal mines on both sides of the border.

On one of our walks we saw some relics from the coal mining past. See the pictures.

I told the owner of my diorama’s and she was very enthusiastic. I suggested that they could be a nice atmospheric items in their small restaurant. She thought this could be a good idea. So my diorama’s Nice Street and Northall Dock will go over the border to a small hotel in Germany as eye catchers in their restaurant.

I promise you to post some pictures after we have them installed them in the restaurant.

My eyes are going better finally. So I can start modelling again. I really missed it.

Regards,

Job

Congratulations on the anniversary, Job! I met my wife in school so we have a certain history by now, but 40 years is impressive!

Exciting that your dioramas will be exhibited. Funny to think that a little bit of 1950s England will appear in a German coal mining area. Will they be there permanently or only for a period?

Hi Mikkel,

I met my wife at school too. So I hope I can read somewhere in the future you are married with her for 40 years.

One of the diorama's will there be permanent. I think Nice Street because of the lightning of the diorama.

The other one will be changed after I have finished Station Road - Teenager in love and .......?

I have divided the APA-box in two. So there will be two small diorama's visible in one box.

In the future I can change the A4 diorama's of Northall. So from time to time there will be new diorama's visible in the restaurant.

I have to build a new APA-box for myself, to show some A4 diorama's in during building.

Keeps my busy and of the street.

It sounds like you have invented a whole new style of exhibiting - getting out there where the general public is, and not just at exhibitions. Maybe a new trend!
