Foster Street - Very Slow Progress

Well despite a rapidly approaching Exhibition deadline, the amount of spare time I have had to spend on the layout has been virtually nill :(

I still have a few jobs I need to complete, and in some cases need to start, but I think I can still get them done or at least to a level where they may be acceptable?

Anyway I managed to sneak an hour today to spend on the layout, and I thought I would spend this splashing a little paint on the Canal boats, so that they at least look partially completed. I managed to find what I thought was a nice shade of blue in my supplies, so I set to work, I think it will take at least another coat, I also managed to put another coat on the buses I am in the process of repainting into the local companies livery.

I still need to add a lot more detail to them, and I'm not sure about the blue? I have also come up with a perfect excuse for not putting ownership and origin details on the side of them, as Foster Street is set around the last years of the war/shortly after so these would have been painted out to keep the "Spies" guessing, well that's my excuse anyway :)

However even though my modelling time was very limited, I have had time to have a rant about a couple of things,

1 How inconsistent are humbol paints, they either have the consistency of water, or tar, and some of the colours do not match the lids, I mean I can handle a slightly different shade, but I opened a can of blue to find it was green.

2 how come when you don't want something you cant help but bump into it all the time to the point of throwing it away, but then when you actually want something you can never find it? All I wanted was a sheet of clear plastic I have earmarked for the canal surface, perhaps I threw it away??

Anyway until the next time Happy Modelling
