Sproston - more on the signalbox
This will be just a short update, as I am now at the stage where most construction has to be halted, whilst awaiting the arrival of some "spare parts" from Springside Models,- who are very kindly sending the components that I said I required in the previous blog, I must say very good customer service!
The only remaining task possible is to begin building the staircase, which I may do, depending on how long the wait for the internal bits.
The roof has been painted, as have the window frames, so I thought it would be nice to see what it looks like, they are only placed on at the moment, to allow access for fitting the new bits...
I have also taken the advice of RSLR (Reece), and ordered some GWR nameplates and letters from Cooper-Craft.
Other small jobs have involved new rooftop finials to the loco-shed - (the old ones had received many accidental hits during the layouts construction and were in a sorry state), fitting a small safety rail to the back of the goods shed office exit steps, and 'beefing up' the external staircase from the second floor of the creamery, with new diagonal supporting framework fitted underneath and each side of the top platform along with a railing on both sides now....(H&S tasks....) Hopefully more to report next time.
Regards
SIGTECH (Steve)
