I am trying to get some cash together for 25095, I heard a friends 25245, Bachmanns other sound chipped 25. I think its the best factory fitted sound loco yet. A friend of mine is going to reprogram it for me so I can run it on Llanbourne which is DC, I wont get all the options, horn sound etc but I just want that Sulzer thrash. I did notice that Bachmann haven't painted the tail light surrounds but thats an easy fix. Another thing is the steps on the body side will need plating over, as you said it does have other faults but with a bit of work they do look alright.

The question is will you be able to stop at one Blue diesel.

I guess DCC would be incredibly expensive for you Peter with your excellent selection of BR blue stock!

I hope I can stop - I intend for this to be just a train set loco - something to play with, rather than a serious model. It will be detailed but not weather (I think) with a short rake of play wagons (obviously realistic though hence the Hattons Blue Circle selection look very tempting - or a multipack of fitted minerals).

I'd recommend the NCE Powercab as well - it's really easy to use - even I can manage it! I've no practical experience of the Dynamis though, so can't tell you if it's any better.

Funny how things turn out - somehow 25095 became the Railfreight grey 37 at the check out at Hattons!!! I'm planning on plating the bodyside window and painting her up as 37803 for Paxton Road

Another recommendation for the Powercab here - it's a nice piece of kit with a great display and button prompts. You can't change the buttons from "toggle" to "hold" which is a bit of a pain with the ESU notching, but otherwise it's great.

I also have the Railfreight grey 37 and love it. It's worth sealing the speaker chamber with blu-tak, although the 37 sounds pretty good to begin with. "Chunter chunter chunter chunter BRRRRRRP!" - just like I remember from childhood holidays in Helensborough

Thanks Will - I've gone with a Dynamis (the split from set ones from Hattons). At ??75 it seems a decent starter price and I'll take things from there!

My 37 won't stay grey for long... it's currently 50/50 on my poll thread in the forum for Intercity or Loadhaul! 37803 is the easiest conversion, 37698 in Loadhaul second and 37675 in Intercity hardest as I'll need to replace nose grills for that one!
