Well after a day where the washing machine has decided to go on the fritz, at the same moment there are sales on (how's that for timing ) I managed to spend nearly an hour on my latest project, the Ivatt class 4.

As stated in an earlier post the basis for this was a kit built Standard 4 I bought of Ebay, because I wanted the chassis to use as basis for a Stanier Mogul. But when I was deciding what to do with the Std 4 body I noticed how similar it is to an Ivatt class 4.

Well it is to me, if I squint a bit, and look at it from a distance, anyway like the greatest surgeon in the world, I got some of my favourite tools and began to butcher the body.

I managed to get a few photos of the patient, I really need to get a better camera, I know I have been saying this nearly as long as I have told myself I'm going to buy a Ivatt 2-6-0, but the "NEW WASHING MACHINE" has put pay to both.

As you can see there is still a lot to do, I need to work a little more on the cab sides, or I may just build a new one, then there is the double chimney I have to build, then the footplate needs more work, and the smoke box should project more........ That's before I even look at the tender, and the chassis, still I'm trying to create something that resembles an Ivatt 4 and that's the excuse I'm sticking to
